As the 1st place winner (Pop) of the USA Songwriting Competition, Alexander will be showcasing at the 2012 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. Friday March16 at 9pm @ Mozarts on Lake Austin Blvd.



WINNER, USA Songwriting Competition 2011

 

Alexander Cardinale and co-writer Morgan Taylor Reid have won 1st Prize (Pop) and 2nd Prize (Overall) in the 16th Annual USA Songwriting Competition; the largest songwriting competition in the world. The song that ganished them the win was "Traffic Lights," the title track from Alexander's 2011 release.

Alexander shot a small principal role in David Fincher's movie
The Social Network, written by Aaron Sorkin. He plays the Steel Drummer in the "caribbean night" scene between Jesse Eisenberg & Andrew Garfield. (He actually performed the steel drum part for the film)
